A golfer's scrambling stats are calculated by dividing the number of successful scrambles by the number of attempts and multiplying by 100.
A high scrambling percentage indicates a strong short game and mental strength, while a high number of scrambles can indicate problems with the long game.
Additionally, in team tournaments, scrambling can also refer to a type of play where players drop their balls at the same spot and continue from there.
Developing strong scrambling skills can greatly enhance your golf performance and result in better scores on the green. Example of Rule in Real Life: In the 2018 Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods was penalized for hitting a moving ball, which is against this rule. He tried to play a shot while his ball was still moving and received a two-stroke penalty.
Rule: Ball Moved During Search If a player moves a ball while searching for it, there is no penalty, but the ball must be replaced.
Example: In the 2019 Players Championship, Rory McIlroy accidentally moved his ball while searching for it in the woods. He replaced it without penalty, as per the rule.
Rule: Repairing Damage on the Putting Green Players are allowed to repair almost any damage on the putting green, including spike marks and animal damage.
Example: In the 2017 BMW Championship, Sergio Garcia was seen repairing a pitch mark on the green before putting, which is allowed under this rule.
Rule: Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person, Animal, or Object If a ball in motion accidentally hits a person, animal, or object, there is usually no penalty and the ball is played as it lies.
Example: In the 2019 Phoenix Open, Rickie Fowler's ball hit a spectator and bounced into a hazard. He played it as it lay, in accordance with the rule.
Rule: Relief from Abnormal Course Conditions Players can take relief without penalty from abnormal course conditions, including immovable obstructions and dangerous animal conditions.
Example: In the 2016 Barclays tournament, Phil Mickelson took a free drop from a sprinkler head, which is considered an immovable obstruction under this rule.

Welcome back to the Golfing Eagles blog. We continue our journey into the wonderful world of golf, and today, we're exploring the benefits that this amazing sport offers for kids.
Golf is a multifaceted sport that enriches its players in many ways. When it comes to children, golf goes far beyond physical activity - it also promotes mental growth, character development, and essential life skills.
Here are some reasons why you should consider getting your child into golf.
Golf is an excellent source of physical activity, combining walking, carrying the bag, and swinging the club. Kids get a full-body workout while enjoying the outdoors.
The National Institute of Health NIH recommends that children should engage in at least one hour of physical activity per day, and golf is a great way to achieve this.
Golf is not just a physical game - it's a mental one. Kids must learn to concentrate, strategize, and problem-solve to navigate the golf course successfully.
These skills translate well into their academic pursuits and everyday life.
Golf teaches children important values such as patience, honesty, integrity, and respect. Since players often keep their own scores and must follow etiquette, kids learn to play fair and respect other players.
Golf is a social sport. Kids learn to interact with different age groups, improve their communication skills, and develop sportsmanship. Programs such as those offered by The First Tee also provide a sense of community and camaraderie.
Golf is a sport that can be played at any age, and skills acquired as a child can be refined throughout life. It's an activity that kids can share with their friends, parents, and eventually, their children.
In today's digital age, getting kids outdoors is more important than ever. Golf courses are beautiful, green spaces that allow children to appreciate nature and learn about the environment.
Proficient young golfers have opportunities for scholarships in many universities and colleges, which can help them attain their higher education goals. The American Junior Golf Association provides information about these scholarships.
The benefits of golf for kids are manifold, and it's never too early to start. If you're ready to introduce your child to this wonderful sport, consider getting them a kids golf club set from our collection at Golfing Eagles.
Remember, the best way for children to reap the benefits of golf is to make sure they're having fun. So, let them enjoy the game, and they'll love the sport for life.

A golf practice net is a perfect solution for avid golfers who want to work on their swing from the comfort of their backyard. It can be used to improve your swing, work on your accuracy, or simply enjoy some time outdoors.
Golf nets come in various sizes and styles to fit any need or budget. With a golf practice net, you don't have to leave your home to work on your game. It is a great investment for anyone who wants to improve their skills and become a better golfer.
Why goto the driving range when you can practice your swing from the comfort of your own home. Get a golf hitting net or chipping net for outdoor use. You can have a golf net and mat setup very easily, and practice your golf swing daily. If you want to improve your golf swing, it helps to have a golf hitting net.
Did you ever imagine the key to improving your golf game could be right outside your back door?
Well, let me let you in on a secret: with golf nets for backyard driving, it can be! These versatile nets are perfect for golf enthusiasts who want to work on their swing, consistency, and power, anytime, anywhere.
So, what are golf nets for backyard driving? Golf nets are designed for golfers to practice their swing at home. They're built to be durable and can take the force of a full golf swing without breaking.
Not only do they protect your property and surroundings, but they also provide you with a safe, convenient way to train whenever you want.
You might be thinking, how can golf nets help you elevate your game? They can help you work on your consistency, refine your swing, and increase your power—all of this in the comfort of your own backyard.
By practicing regularly and focusing on your swing mechanics, you can drastically improve your overall game.
When choosing a golf training net for the backyard, several factors should be considered to ensure that the product meets your needs and provides the best value for your money. Here's a detailed look at some key aspects to take into account to make sure you get the best golf net:
The size and shape of a golf net are crucial factors, particularly if space is a consideration. A smaller net may be ideal for confined spaces or if you plan on practicing short-range shots. Larger nets, on the other hand, provide a more generous hitting area, which may be suitable for a full range of shots.
The shape of the net can also impact its usability. Some nets are designed with extra depth or have a "bucket" design to better catch and retain balls.
Others may be flat or box-like, suitable for different types of shots. Always ensure that the size and shape of the net align with your practice requirements and the available space.
The durability of a golf net largely depends on the quality of its materials and construction. Look for nets made from strong, heavy-duty materials that can withstand the impact of golf balls over time. UV-protected nets are an added bonus as they are less likely to deteriorate under sunlight, thereby enhancing longevity.
Check the netting material - nylon is a common choice due to its strength and resilience. Reinforced seams and edges can also add to the net's durability. Remember, a higher initial cost can sometimes translate to longer-term savings if it means your net lasts for several years without needing replacement.
If you plan on moving your golf net around or storing it when not in use, then portability is a key factor. Look for a net that's lightweight and easy to disassemble. A carrying case is a useful feature to make transportation and storage even easier.
Consider, too, how compactly the net can fold down. If storage space is limited, you'll need a net that packs down into a small size. Some models are designed to be "pop-up" for easy assembly and disassembly.
The last thing you want is to spend hours trying to set up your golf net. Look for a net with clear, easy-to-follow assembly instructions. Quick assembly features such as snap-together joints or color-coded poles can make set-up a breeze.
Some nets are freestanding, while others may require stakes or weights to hold them in place. Think about what will work best for your setup and how much time you're willing to devote to the installation process.
By considering these aspects when buying a golf training net, you can ensure you're investing in a product that fits your space, meets your practice needs, stands up to regular use, and offers the convenience of easy set-up and storage.
Remember, the right net can make a significant difference in your training and help take your golfing skills to the next level.
Setting up a golf net in your backyard can be a simple and straightforward task, providing an excellent way to practice your swing without leaving the comfort of your home. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started with setting up a typical 10-foot wide golf net:
Step 1: Choose the Right Spot
Firstly, find a suitable location in your backyard that's flat and spacious enough to accommodate your golf net. Ensure that the spot you choose is away from windows, fragile items, or any potential area of damage. Consider safety for both you and your surroundings.
Step 2: Unpack and Check the Components
Unbox your golf net package and make sure all the components are present and intact. Your kit should typically include the net, the frame, and the necessary fasteners. It's always a good idea to refer to the instruction manual that came with the product for specific parts and setup guidelines.
Step 3: Assemble the Frame
The frame usually comes in several parts that need to be connected together. It's often as simple as fitting together the poles according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure the frame is sturdy and stable before proceeding.
Step 4: Attach the Net
Once the frame is assembled, carefully attach the net. This step typically involves securing the net to the frame using the provided fasteners. Make sure the net is stretched tight and evenly across the frame to ensure balls will be safely caught and that it won't sag or tear over time.
Step 5: Secure the Golf Net
Depending on the design of your golf net, you may need to secure it to the ground. This is especially important if you live in a windy area. Some golf nets come with stakes or weights to secure the net in place, but if yours doesn't, consider buying some separately.
Step 6: Test It Out
Before starting your practice, test out your net with a few soft shots to make sure it's secure and functioning as expected. If the net catches your shots and doesn't move or wobble, you're ready to begin your backyard driving.
Remember, every golf net may come with slightly different setup instructions, so always refer to the manufacturer's guide for specific details. Proper installation will not only ensure the durability and longevity of your golf net but will also provide a safe environment for your practice sessions.
Setting up your golf net in the backyard is a great investment toward improving your golf game. It provides a convenient practice space where you can work on your swing anytime, whether you're gearing up for a tournament or just enjoying the game.

1. Practice Regularly
The secret to improving your golf game lies in regular practice. Aim to spend a set amount of time each day working on your swing.
This doesn't mean you need to spend hours on end; instead, focus on the quality of your practice. Even 15-30 minutes daily can make a significant difference. Use this time to work on various shots like drives, chips, and pitches. By making practice a routine, you're more likely to build muscle memory and enhance your golfing skills effectively.
2. Monitor Your Progress
Consider keeping track of your progress. Note improvements in your swing, consistency, and power. Tracking your progress can be highly motivating and can help you identify areas that need more work.
You might keep a golfing journal, logging details such as the type of shots you practice, the success rate of each shot, and any tweaks you're making to your technique. Regularly reviewing these notes will give you a clearer picture of how far you've come and which areas need further improvement.
3. Use Swing Analysis Tools
Consider investing in swing analysis tools or apps that can provide real-time feedback on your swing. Some golf nets even come with such technology built-in. These tools can help you understand your swing better, highlighting elements such as swing speed, path, and face angle. They can provide insights that might be difficult to grasp otherwise, helping you make precise adjustments for improvement.
4. Work on Your Weaknesses
While it's great to practice the shots you're already good at, don't shy away from working on the ones that give you trouble. This could be anything from your drive to your chip shot. It might be frustrating at first, but consistently practicing your weak points will ultimately improve your overall performance.
5. Incorporate Drills
Make your practice more structured and effective by incorporating drills into your routine. Drills are designed to improve specific aspects of your game, such as accuracy, distance, or swing path. You can find various golf drills online or get recommendations from a golf coach.
6. Maintain Your Golf Net
Lastly, to make the most of your golf net, it's crucial to keep it in good condition. Regularly check the net for any wear and tear, ensure it's adequately secured, and store it properly when not in use. A well-maintained golf net will serve you well for years to come.
Remember, the goal is not just to practice but to practice effectively. By following these guidelines, you'll be able to make the most of your golf net and see noticeable improvements in your game over time.
One of the biggest advantages of a golf net is that it allows for convenient practice. With a golf net in your backyard, you don't have to travel to the range or pay for balls.
Golf nets save you both time and money. You can practice whenever you want, and you don't have to spend money on range fees or golf balls. You can use the same ball over and over again, which also contributes to environmental sustainability.
A golf net can be a great addition to family leisure time. Even if your family members are not avid golfers, they can still have fun trying to hit the ball into the net. It's a great way to introduce kids to the sport too!
Different types of golf training nets cater to different aspects of the game, whether you're looking to perfect your drive, improve your chip shots, or finesse your putting. Here's an overview of the types of golf nets you might consider for your backyard:
1. Driving Nets
Driving nets are designed to withstand the force of full-swing shots, making them an ideal choice for practicing your driving skills. They are typically larger and sturdier than other types of nets, providing a generous target area for your drives.
Some driving nets also feature targets or strike zones to help you improve accuracy and consistency. This type of net is great for players looking to improve their long game.
2. Chipping Nets
Chipping nets are smaller and usually come with multiple pockets or zones, designed to help you improve your short game. They help you practice precision and control, often featuring adjustable targets for various shot difficulties. Chipping nets allow you to practice different trajectories and landing spots, thus helping to refine your approach shots.
3. Putting Greens
While not technically nets, putting greens are an important practice tool for golfers. These are designed to simulate the feel and roll of a real golf green.
They allow you to practice your putting strokes and aim from the comfort of your backyard. Some putting greens come with multiple holes, gradients, and even bunkers or hazards, helping to mimic a variety of green conditions.

4. Combo Sets
Combo sets offer the best of all worlds, typically including a driving net, a chipping net, and sometimes a putting green all in one package. ]]>In this post we will list the different golf terms and what everything in the world of golf scoring means.
Most golfers know most every golf term but there are a couple that does surprise even a seasoned golfer of 20 years.
Most golfers do not know what a Condor is, or that getting an albatross is rarer than getting struck by lightning!
The main golf scoring terms and questions related to how to keep score in golf are listed below.
First is the Golf score cheat sheet that has the quick answers to all of the different main scoring terms in golf.
Golf scoring terms can be confusing, but knowing the basics will help you score like a pro.
⛳ - Stroke - Any forward club swing that's intended to hit the golf ball.
⛳ - Par - The number of strokes an expert player is expected to make for a given hole or a group of holes (usually 9 or 18).
⛳ Birdie - One stroke under par on an individual hole.
⛳ Eagle- Two strokes under par on an individual hole.
⛳ Albatross / Double Eagle - Three strokes under par on an individual hole.
⛳ Condor - Four strokes under par on an individual hole.
⛳ Ace / Hole-in-One - Getting the ball in the hole (cup) in only one stroke.
⛳ Bogey - One stroke over par on an individual hole.
⛳ Double Bogey - Two strokes over par on an individual hole.
⛳ Triple Bogey - Three strokes over par on an individual hole.
⛳ Quadruple Bogey - Four strokes over par on an individual hole.
Also, we will be covering the proper way to keep score in golf, and no it doesn't include 5 mulligans per 9 holes it turns out!
The history of scorekeeping in golf is believed to date back to the 16th century. The first recorded instance of scoring in golf was in a match between two Scottish noblemen in 1567.
In this match, each hole was worth one point and the winner was the player with the most points at the end of 18 holes.
Scorekeeping has evolved over time, but the basic idea remains the same: keep track of how many strokes it takes to complete each hole and add up those strokes.
I guess this is another reason they say the Scottish invented golf, as my good Scottish friend Steve always reminds me of!
There's a lot of golf scoring terminology that can be a bit confusing for first-time golfers.
Once you have a basic understanding of golf scoring terminology, it's time to get out there and score like a pro! For the beginner, it's important to familiarize yourself with golf scoring terminology to make the gameplay smoother.
In golf, scoring is typically kept track of using the strokes-per-hole method.
This means that the total number of strokes a golfer takes on each hole is recorded, and the golfer with the lowest score at the end of 18 holes is declared the winner.
There are variations of this scoring method (such as match play), but strokes-per-hole is by far the most common way to keep score in golf.
The three most common scoring systems used in golf are stroke play, match play, and stableford.
I know just what I thought, WTF is Stableford scoring?!
In stroke play, the score for each hole is totaled up and the player with the lowest score at the end of 18 holes wins.
Match play is similar to stroke play, but instead of total strokes per hole, only the number of strokes needed to complete a hole relative to your opponent matters. The first player to reach the agreed-upon number of holes (usually 18) or with the most holes won at the end of play is the winner.
Stableford scoring awards points for each hole based on the score achieved, with higher scores earning more points. The player with the most points at the end of play wins.
Stableford is a scoring system used in golf, rather than counting the total number of strokes taken, as in stroke play, it is based on the number of points taken at each of the holes.
Ive personally never heard of this scoring system, must be something Scottish invented that didn't quite catch on.
Stroke - In golf, a "Stroke" is any forward club swing, including when putting, that a golfer is trying to hit the ball.
You can essentially use "Stroke" as a synonym for a shot/putt, but keep in mind that it also includes "whiffs" if you miss the ball when trying to hit it.
* We all have had a whiff in our early days of golf, but no way did we ever count this, golf is hard enough!
Par - Getting a PAR is the number of strokes that an expert or "Scratch Golfer" is expected to need to complete a hole.
Par always includes two putts for each hole. On a par-4 hole, a scratch golfer is supposed to reach the green in two strokes, then complete the hole with two putts.
Distance, or more specifically "effective distance" (the distance a hole plays after accounting for whether it's uphill/downhill, its elevation, etc.), is the main determining factor in a hole's par rating.
Here are the USGA's distance guidelines for men:
For women, the USGA’s distance guidelines are:
The golf scoring term "Par" is also used to reference the combined par of a group of golf holes.
Full-length 18-hole golf courses include par-3, par-4, and par-5 holes. "Course Par" for the 18 holes will usually be between 69-73, with par-72 being most common for an 18-hole golf course.
Par can also be used for multiple rounds of golf. In the PGA tour, tournaments are usually played over four days, with 18 holes being played each day.
Under Par - The term "under par" describe a player's score when they've taken fewer strokes than par up to a given point of the golf course. -
This is a term most golfers like myself have NEVER uttered, unless in jest. You know like "I think the odds of me being under par after 18 is like 10000-1."
An example of being under par would be If a player took 3 strokes to complete a par-3, 3 strokes to complete a par-4, and 4 strokes to complete a par-5 hole, their score could be described as "two under par" or "-2".
Again something most of us will not usually achieve very often, but we keep trying!
Here are some common questions related to scoring in golf.
A golf handicap is a number assigned to a golfer that indicates the number of strokes above or below par that the golfer is expected to play.
A golf handicap is a number assigned to a golfer that indicates the number of strokes above or below par that the golfer is expected to score. The higher the handicap, the worse the golfer is expected to score.
Its a pretty confusing process for most average golfers and involves a lot of math. The slope rating, course handicap, and adjusted gross scores are all used to calculate handicap.
The first step is to play at least five 18-hole rounds of golf at different courses and with different teeing grounds. You then calculate your average score for those five rounds.
Next, you take the course rating of each course that you played and subtract it from your score on that course (your "adjusted gross score"). For example, if you shot an 85 on a course with a rating of 72.4, your adjusted gross score would be 12.6 (85 -72.4=12.6).
Then, you take the slope rating of each course and multiply it by your adjusted gross score. For example, if the slope rating of the course is 113 and your adjusted gross score is 12.6, your "slope-adjusted score" would be 1,413 (113x12.6=1,413).
Finally, you add up all of your slope-adjusted scores and divide by the number of rounds that you played. This number is your handicap.
To calculate an average score for a round of golf, first add up the total number of strokes taken for the entire round. Then, divide that number by the total number of holes played in the round. This will give you the average number of strokes per hole.
A hole-in-one is a score of one stroke on a hole, typically achieved on a par three. Every once in awhile you might get a short par 4 (260-290ish yards) and get a hole in one on that, but that would also be called an Albatross!
There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on the skill level of the golfer. A good score for a beginner might be in the range of 80-90, while a good score for a more experienced golfer might be in the range of 70-80.
There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on personal preference.
Some golfers prefer the convenience of an electronic scoring system, while others prefer the traditional feel of a manual scorecard. Ultimately, it is up to the golfer to decide which type of scoring system works best for them.
Thank you for reading the Golfing Eagles scoring FAQs. Hopefully we have explained the meaning of golf scoring terms and the basics of golf scoring.
Next time you are watching golf and looking at the pga leaderboard, you will know exactly how the golfers achieved those golf scores! Im always watching the golf leaderboard and following pga golf scores. I know who is playing bogey golf or playing above par golf. Yet I must say Ive never heard of Stableford scoring before.
We have also included a cheat sheet of golf scoring terms so that you can score like a pro! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them below and we'll get back to you. Until next time, happy golfing!

Scoring in golf can be confusing if you don't play golf all the time, but there are certain terms seasoned golfers don't know the meaning of, like an Albatross!
An albatross in golf is achieved when a player either aces a par 4, or scores a "2" on a par 5.
While a birdie is 1-under par on a hole and an eagle is 2-under par, a step better than that is an albatross, which is 3-under par on a hole.
So if you somehow chipped in or hit a long 2nd shot on a shorter par 5, most people call it a double eagle, but you could also call it an Albatross!
Either way, it's super duper rare. 6 million to 1. Arnold Palmer has never had one on tour. Most modern day golfers in 2022 have never had one.
There have only been 18 in official PGA events and only 4 at The Masters, so yea it's kind of a big deal!
The Albatross is not even known by a lot of golfers. A lot of golfers don't even know it exists as a term!
Actually, the Albatross is SO unlikely that you are more likely to get struck by lightning (550,000 to 1)!! If you are golfing on a rainy day, both are possible though!
So what does an Albatross mean in golf? It means you are most likely really good at golf, and a really lucky person!
YES!
An albatross, also known as a "double eagle", is a golf score of three-under-par on a single hole. This is most commonly achieved with two shots in the hole on a par-5, but can be done with a hole-in-one on a par-4.
It depends on who you talk with you and a few factors, but the general thought is that it's about 6 million to 1!
They're definitely far rarer than aces, aka a hole in one.
They say there are only a couple of hundred of Albatrosses scored each year on the golf course, while there are over 40,000 hole in one aces recorded. That's a big difference and really shows you how tough it is.
That makes your chances of becoming one of the 200 or so golfers a year to make an albatross better than the odds of being killed by a shark (1 in 350 million) but worse than being struck by lightning (one in 555,000).
YES! By Far. I thought it was probably about the same, or a little rarer. Yet no, the Albatross or double eagle is way rarer.
They say the odds of a hole in one is about 12,000 to 1. (It feels like a billion to one to me!)
Yet it's 6 million to one for the super duper tough Albatross.
NO! Not officially on tour, but I'm betting he has many of these golf shots on his own.
Although Tiger has never recorded an albatross on TOUR, his closest call came in 2015 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which was won by Brooks Koepka. After a 329-yard drive, Tiger hit his second shot just 7 inches from the pin for a tap-in eagle. So close to the albatross!
Not many players have been inducted into the double eagle club, I mean with 18 total, that leaves a lot of great players out of that exclusive club.
Like how could Tiger Woods not be in it?!! Louis Oosthuizen is in that club and he has that going for him!
In the four major PGA championship tournaments, it has only happened 18 times since 1870, according to GolfLink.
You would think that in all of the years of golf being played, that more golfers would have been able to get that golf ball in the hole in 1 or two shots.
Three strokes under par is tough and you would have a better chance of getting it on a short par 4, versus the longer par 5 holes on most golf courses. How many Albatrosses Have Happened in Masters Golf History?
FORE!
A grand total of four double eagles (albatrosses) have been recorded by pga tour professional golfers in the entire history of The Master's Tournament, which dates to 1934.
Those four double eagles have each happened on a different hole — no one hole at Augusta National Golf Club has yet seen a second albatross. This is how rare they are!
Jack Nicklaus doesn't have one, nor do Mr. Tiger Woods or a lot of other professional golfers on the PGA tour. So few have happened in a Pga championship, so that shows how tough it is.
When a professional golfer cant get the albatross, then the average golfer or amateur golfers have no chance at all. The double eagle is really the rarest shot ever and it's just exceedingly rare to get three strokes under par.
Gene Sarazen in 1935 at the Masters Tournament. "The golf shot heard 'round the world"!
Sarazen hit what could be the best golf shot ever at Augusta National Golf Club on the fifteenth hole in the final round of the Masters Tournament in 1935.
He struck a spoon (the loft of the modern four wood) 232 yards (212 m) into the hole, scoring a double eagle. (AKA an Albatross)
At the time he was trailing Craig Wood by three shots, and was then tied with him. He parred the 16th, 17th and 18th holes to preserve the tie. The following day, the pair played a 36-hole playoff, with Sarazen winning by five shots.
The Sarazen Bridge, approaching the left side of the 15th green, was named in 1955 to commemorate the double eagle's twentieth anniversary, which included a contest to duplicate, with the closest just over 4 feet away.
This would be the most notable albatrosses ever and its a rare feat that might not be duplicated. Getting two eagles in a round is rare, but getting the double eagle is really special.
In conclusion, getting an Albatross is such a rare feat, we never hear about it, so most people dont even know it exists.
I am a Carl from Caddyshack type of amateur golfer who doesn't play at bay hill or qualify for major PGA championships, and sure I hit plenty of errant shots, but I have a lot of good golf shots and maybe one day....
It seems pretty possible if you have a short par that you can drive. Then its just like a hole in one, just a little longer. Its on my list of things to do along with the 300 game in bowling!
The Albatross is not quite the CONDOR, but that's a story for another golf scoring post and also another level! Its the rarest of all the golf feats, it's actually 4 under par, no way!! WAY.

🏌️♂️ How Many Golf Clubs go in a Golf Bag?
⛳ Top Christmas Golf Gifts
]]>With the golf professionals competing this week in the US Open, a common question is “How many golf clubs are professional golfers allowed to carry?
14 is the maximum number of clubs you can carry in your bag.
While golfers are legally allowed to carry up to 14 clubs in their golf bag, having 14 is not a requirement. You can golf with as many clubs as you’d like, so long as the number does not exceed the 14.
Each golfer has their own personal preferences when it comes to golf club choice and the number of clubs that they feel is necessary for them to play their best.
However, there are generally 14 clubs in a golf bag and each one is used for a different purpose. Some of the most popular clubs include the driver, 3-wood, wedge, putter, and fairway wood.
Here is the complete list of the different types of golf clubs you can include in your bag.
One is the answer!
Yet usually you will want at least 7. As a beginner, it is important to have the right number of clubs with you when you tee off.
Most golfers recommend carrying at least 3 clubs, with the least number of clubs being 1 club.
Some people like to practice more with certain clubs. I once played an entire round with a 7 iron and putter!
It is often said that the type of clubs you have in your bag matters. But does this really hold true? The answer, according to golf experts, is no. You can use any type of club - wood, iron, putter etcetera - as long as it is legal to do so.
What matters more is that you are comfortable with the club and know how to use it properly.
This means practicing regularly and mastering the stroke technique. That's what she said... Of course, the type of clubs you have in your bag will add an extra layer of comfort and convenience when playing golf.
It is important to know the limit of golf clubs that you are allowed to carry in your golf bag. That is if you are a pro or in tourney play and dont want to get a possible 2 or 4 stroke penalty.
The limit of golf clubs helps golfers make better decisions when it comes to selecting the right club for the shot they are taking.
Also if there wasnt a limit, you know some joker would be bringing every possible club under the sun and having multiple bags.
Does the putter count as one of the 14 clubs you can have in your bag? The answer is yes, it does! In fact, any club you bring with you is fair game, no matter what its shape or size.
According to the USGA and R&A rules, YES you can have two putters in your bag when playing a professional round of golf provided the total number doesn't exceed 14.
If you have extra golf clubs in your bag and realize it on the first hole, it is a two-stroke penalty. If you don't realize it until the second hole or later, the maximum penalty is four strokes.
Now that’s for the professionals and people that are sticklers for the rules, not like most of us! It seems sort of crazy to penalize a friend for deciding to bring an extra pitching wedge!
The golf clubs that pros carry varied depending on the golfer's type of game. Generally, though, golfers would carry clubs of all lengths to make sure they are covered during the round.
The most typical Tiger Woods type PRO setup in a golf bag includes these 14 golf clubs:
The max number of golf clubs you can carry in your bag is 14. Yet usually, if you are just playing a casual golf game with friends, its not that big of a deal.
You don’t need to bring 14 and most of the time you will be using the 7 main clubs including the Driver, 3 wood, 5 iron, 7 iron, 9 iron, pitching wedge and putter.
Yet you could see how if you only had those clubs and were in a certain spot like a sand trap, it would be helpful to have a specific sand wedge.
Same if you are like in between a 7 and 9 iron, and really need that 8 iron for the right yardage. So maybe about 10 clubs is the right number for us non-professionals.

]]>What is a Flop Shot exactly?
A flop shot is a shot in which the ball is hit with a lofted trajectory and lands softly on the green.
As a famous golf pro said recently, "The flop shot is a low-percentage, high-reward shot."
Paige Spiranac is teaching her 2.8 million Instagram followers how to “flop it like it’s hot.”
In a video posted to her Instragram page, or as the kids say, The GRAM. Super beautiful golfer-turned-influencer gave fans a lesson on how to execute a flop shot as part of her “Quickies with Paige” series.
“The most highly requested shot, the flop shot! This is my favorite shot to hit in golf and is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it!” Spiranac captioned the post.
Describing it as a “high spinning shot they use around the green,” the 27-year-old explained how the flop shot can be used “anywhere” by following a few steps, which she demonstrates throughout the two-and-a-half-minute clip.
Spiranac also cites confidence as the key to a successful flop shot.
"Play with confidence," she said. "Flop shots can be a little scary at times, so don't forget to practice! That way, you're able to improve your game and continue picking up strokes."
I will need to practice this but I must say this is a very helpful video with easy to follow steps.
Paige has many other helpful golf videos and quick helpful tips. Now if I can only get them to actually work!
]]>Golf is by far the greatest game ever created, and the most difficult to master some would say. Yet getting started in golf is a tough intimidating prospect.
To help you (or someone you know) take the plunge, here’s a list of some do’s and don’ts for the up and coming player.
DO: Start at a driving practice range, not on the golf course. The golf driving range is the perfect place to get acclimated to the game. It’s low-pressure, casual and you can stay as long as you want.
DON’T: Worry about anyone else at the range. Everyone was once a beginner and we all know the game is a real struggle. No one is judging you! It might seem everyone is watching you, but believe me, nobody cares about other people’s swings.
If you make it through your first range session and decide you like golf and want to pursue it seriously, then:
#2- DO: Work with a golf pro if possible to get a proper swing foundation. At the very least find someone who has some experience and can teach you golf etiquette and the basics.
DON’T: Let your spouse or significant other become your primary teacher. This is often a recipe for disaster that could drive you away from the game (and possibly each other!).
#3- DO: Learn how to grip the golf club properly with the interlocking grip.
DON’T: Try to keep your head “down and still” through impact. Let it follow through with the rest of your body.
#4-DO: Bend from your hips.
DON’T: Bend from your knees.
#5- DO: Get your lead shoulder under your chin on the backswing and finish with your face, chest and hips and facing the target.
DON’T: Stay flat-footed through impact.
#6- DO: Concentrate on the short game by chipping and putting before focusing on long irons (3-iron, 4-iron, etc.) and your hybrids, fairway woods and driver.
It always helps to have a friend when you’re starting something new, especially something like golf because usually its good to have at least one person to golf with. So:
#7- DO: Recruit friends or family to learn with you and make it an event!
Find a local Topgolf or celebrate a practice session with a few drinks at the clubhouse bar. Golf can be hard, so make sure you have fun and not take it super seriously at first.
When it comes to purchasing golf clubs and equipment, golf is not cheap and it can add up. Yet you don’t have to spend a ton on golf right away. Start slowly and:
#8- DO: Buy a golf glove. Some people like to play without one, but the vast majority of golfers use them.
DON’T: Worry about buying your own full set of clubs and a ton of golf accessories until you can make consistent, solid contact every time you swing.
#9- DO: Invest in some proper golf clothing and golf accessories. Get yourself some good golf shirts, golf shorts, tees, golf balls, markers and other golf items you will need when you golf.
DON’T: Buy those long golf socks or headcovers for your irons. Please. Just don’t.
When you feel ready to finally goto the golf course and play from the driving range, make sure you:
#10- DON’T: Attempt to play on an actual golf course until you can get the ball airborne. This is both for your benefit and everyone else on the course.
** Its probably best to start at a smaller beginner-friendly par 3 nine-hole course. This is a short course with each hole being a 100 yard par 3 hole.
DO: Practice Golf at Home - You can get a good golf practice net to use indoors or outdoors to practice your swing before your big day on the actual course.
The driving range is great, but being able to follow up and get more swings at home can be really beneficial . You could also get a golf mat, golf chipping nets and an indoor putting green to help with your short game.
DO: Play as quickly as possible. Always be ready to hit your shot when it’s your turn. (Do not be one of these people who take forever with 5 practice swings, 3 deep breaths, and then a big swing and a miss! Focus and Swing.)
#11- DON’T: Use cheaper golf or range balls when starting out. You don't need top of the line Titliest Pro V1 golf balls, but don't get some golf balls at a garage sale and then wonder why your drive is going 140 yards.
Give yourself the best possible chance of success when first starting out and make sure you at least have good balls.
You want to build your confidence and being cheap doesn't go with golf.
DO: Take the time to learn basic rules and etiquette. This can be pretty key when you start playing at a bigger normal course. It helps to know the rules and what is acceptable at golf courses.
#12- DON’T: Spend too much time looking for your golf ball, and don’t pick up any other balls on the course, even if you can’t see anyone. You might ruin someone else’s good round and its a known fact that its bad karma. You dont ever want to anger the Golfing Gods!
DO: Mark your ball on the green so you can identify it and get out of anyones way that is putting. So this is one of the smaller golf accessories that is key to have when starting out, it makes you feel like a real golfer when you mark your ball.
#13- DON’T: Mark your scorecard on or by the green. On a busy golf course, people will be waiting to hit their approach shots, so wait to update your score when you get to the next tee box.
DO: Take care of the golf course by raking the sand trap bunkers and replacing divots.
Finally, the most importantly:
#14- DO: Remember the good golf shots and forget the bad ones, because there will be a lot of the latter.
DON’T: Get discouraged. Golf is tough, but it’s worth the effort. In the immortal words of Arnold Palmer: “Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect.
It is at the same time rewarding and maddening—and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented.
There is no doubt that golf is a really hard game. I have a friend I golf with who after 30 years of golfing is still not that good, and if anything seems to get worse. YET he keeps playing because its fun, its a great way to get outside and get that good fresh air.
Its a fun activity for us and he doesn't take it to seriously. I mean unless your able to dedicate a lot of money and time, the odds are your never going to get that good at golf.
Either way, it will take a lot of playing time to improve, so never give up and it really is the greatest game ever created.

]]>Golf is hard, you have to have a good sense of humor and laugh a lot. Here are some jokes related to the wonderful game of golf.
He looked at his caddie and said, “I’ve played so badly all day, I think I’m going to drown myself in that lake.”
The caddie, quick as a flash, replied, “I’m not sure you could keep your head down that long.”
⚡ Zing!
A golf course!
When a golfer lies, he doesn’t have to bring anything home to prove it.
“Eventually,” replied the caddie, wearily.
⛳ They’re white.
⛳ Sold by the dozen.
⛳ And a week later you have to buy some more.
Caddie: “It’s not a watch, sir – it’s a compass.”
When he opens his eyes, he sees the Pearly Gates and St. Peter standing before him. “Am I dead?” he asks.
“Yes, my son,” replies St. Peter, who looks the man over and notices his clubs.
“I see you’re a golfer,” St. Peter says. “Are you any good?”
“Hey, I got here in two, didn’t I?”
Golf is a complex game that has captivated and frustrated players for hundreds of years. Along the way, there have been a lot of classic quotes related to golf by golfers and famous people.
Among the past and present-day golf sayings, here are some of golf’s most famous quotes.
Mr. Ben Hogan was a man of few words, but he chose them wisely. He is widely regarded as one of the finest golfers of all time, and seems more famous today.
Churchill was known for his witty observations and this one neatly sums up how all amateurs feel about golf from time to time.
Lee Trevino aint lying here and its probably what made him into such a great under pressure golfer.
Lee Trevino was actually struck by lightning on the golf course, when sheltering from a storm under an umbrella at the 1975 Western Open.
This quote came in response to a question on what he would do if he was ever caught in such a situation again.
** Some say the famous Caddyshack scene was inspired by that electrifying Lee Trevino moment!
Tommy Armour was a Scottish professional golfer who won the 1931 Open Championship, so could clearly contort his body rather effectively.
Wodehouse frequently included golf in his humorous writings and was a keen player himself.
Ray Floyd can’t cuss at golf too much, as he has won 65 tournaments as a professional, including four Majors.
The Black Knight is known as one of the most determined and dedicated golf professionals of all time.
Snead was a famously natural player with exceptional sporting aptitude. He never gripped a knife and fork the way he did his golf club.
We’ve all agreed with the creator of Huck Finn on occasion as we’ve staggered off the 18th green.
The Winnie the Pooh author once played off a handicap of nine. Not so bad!
The legendary crooner loved golf – he even had his own line of golf balls called Dinos and a PGA Tour event called The Dean Martin Tuscon Open.
Bob Hope is perhaps the most famous celebrity golfer of all time. He did so much for the game that he was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
‘You can make a lot of money in this game. Just ask my ex-wives. Both of them are so rich that neither of their husbands work.’ - Lee Trevino
Lee Trevino obviously made a lot of money and had a great sense of humor, which is a must in this game.
A spot of unfounded self-deprecation here. Ray won 46 professional tournaments, including the 1912 Open and the 1920 U.S. Open.
The seven-time PGA Tour winner encapsulated the sport’s bamboozling complexity with these famous lines.
Tour professional Bolt was known for his fiery temper and smart advice!
Hope was known for sporting stereotypical golfing attire and is one of the most well known golf loving actors.
“The Walrus” was prone to the odd fit of pique on the golf course.
When Vardon was at his peak around the turn of the 20th century, it was common for professional tournaments to feature 36 holes in a day.
⛳ Golf Tips for Beginners
⛳ Top Golf Jokes
]]>Pro golfers must have the mental toughness to be able to hit a golf ball straight when it is all on the line.
It's not always about making the perfect swing, but rather getting the head of the club to align with your follow-through after contact.
Normal golfers really need help with driving and no doubt if you can drive the ball straight, you are more likely to have a good round of golf.
This post has tips to help drive the ball better including:
⛳ Use the right grip.
⛳ Align your shoulders with the target.
⛳ Keep your head steady, eyes on the ball and shoulder back.
⛳ Use a semi-stiff left arm, not bent.
⛳ Move the club head to take a divot to keep it down and level with the ground.
You must have that confidence that you are going to not hit the ball out of bounds, or hit a weak grounder instead of that big home run blast.
When you want to learn how to play golf, you don't just jump on the green and start swinging. You need to make sure that your stance is correct and that you have a solid grip on the club so it doesn't slip out of your hands.
The correct grip on a club is the grip where the hand and club are in the same plane.
The degree of stiffness depends on the player's age and their level of experience.
For example, a senior player may require a more relaxed grip, while a beginner or intermediate player may require a firmer grip.
A player's swing will also determine how stiff a grip they will need on the club and what type of grip they should be using.
A player with an aggressive swing, for example, may require a firmer grip so that they can control the club more effectively.
For those who are more experienced with golf, they may choose to change their stance so they can put more power behind their swing.
One great thing about doing your stance is that you can make any changes to it when you want without feeling too frustrated. It's still not advised to make major changes though, especially if this is something new to you.
With swing pressure, the golfer has more control over the ball's power. The pressure that is put on the club during the downswing is then released when it reaches a certain point in its trajectory.
A swing pressure helps you get greater power and control of your golf ball.
As you near impact with the ball, you need to start slowing your body down to maintain or increase your swing speed as you release some of that generated swing pressure.
Release too much and your shot will lack power or be too weak; release too little and your shot will lack accuracy and go off target.
Common alignment errors include slicing and hooking. Slicing occurs when the club face is open to the target line and the ball slices off the clubface.
Hooking occurs when the face is closed to the target line and results in a ball that curves away from a straight path.
The following are some tips for getting your alignment right:
- Align your shoulders or hips parallel with your intended target line
- Use alignment aids such as lines, markings on shoes, a golf mat, or even a string to help you get in position
- Take time to make sure that you are lined up correctly before hitting each shot
The golfer must take into consideration many different factors while putting the ball in play. One of these factors is accuracy. The golfer should focus on accuracy and distance control when driving the golf ball.
Accuracy is a measure of how close to target the golfer hits their golf ball. Distance control is how far away from target the golfer hits their golf ball.
__________ GOLF QUOTE BREAK ____________
Mr. Ben Hogan was a man of few words, but he chose them wisely. He is widely regarded as one of the finest golfers of all time, and seems more famous today.
_______________________________________________________
The backswing is the movement of the club away from the ball before you make contact. It's also known as the "pre-shot routine."
People who take golf lessons can learn to control and manipulate their backswing, which can help them shape the trajectory of their shots.
The general rule for a good backswing is that you should be able to see your target while still having a reasonable amount of room in front of you. This will prevent overshooting and ensure that your swing has room to maneuver.
The most common stance for all wind conditions is the parallel stance. This means that both feet are parallel which makes it easier to hit shots from this stance because it cannot be knocked off balance as easily.
When the player is aiming to play a shot that requires an open clubface, they would use a wide stance with one foot closer to the ball and the other about 6 inches behind.
If they are aiming to play a shot with a closed clubface, they would use an open stance with both feet next to each other and their weight evenly distributed on both feet.
The golf ball should be struck with a slight downward swing, keeping your head down and your weight on the heels.
This section is about how to strike the golf ball. The advice to keep your head down and your weight on the heels is good advice for when you are trying to make a solid shot that is low in trajectory.
A golfer needs to feel balanced on his or her feet in order to get the most power from their swing.
If a player stands too close to the ball, they will feel off balance and may not be able to get in a full swing.
If a golfer stands too far away from the ball, they will not be able to generate enough force and their shots will not go as far.
A standard position for a golfer is to stand shoulder width apart, with the ball just ahead of your toes.
The correct width of stance for your height and weight should go about as far as one's foot span.
Golf is a sport that has been played for centuries, and there are many ways to improve one's game.
Driving that little while ball in golf is a skill that must be mastered because its important to start off your hole with a good shot in the fairway, versus that shot that goes crazy to the right and into the woods or water.
With practice, driving the golf ball can be mastered and you can drive the ball long and straight on a consistent basis. The key is practice at the driving range, and then practice some more by getting out on the course.
If you cant get to the driving range or on the course, then the next best thing is to get a golf practice net or golf cage for your home. They can be used indoors or outdoors and can help improve your driving game.

Cart golf
Term for when two golfers riding in the same golf cart repeatedly hit the ball in the same direction (usually into the rough). An efficient but not necessarily pleasant way to play golf.

Dawn patrol
The golfers who are the first to play each day, so named because they start their match around the course at sunrise.
Does it open up over there?

Now you can host your own golf cornhole tournament in the backyard and compete over the course of 9 holes with 2-4 players of all skill levels for the title of Golf Cornhole champ!
You can also host this tourney indoors because this is an easy to move around and put away game, and the balls are fine to use indoors.
Here are some rules on how to get your own golf cornhole game going.
Step 1: Set up the boards as depicted below.
Step 2: Find three friends (or highly skilled pets) and start chipping!
The gameplay is reminiscent of cornhole, washers, or horseshoes, but with some cool new twists.
Here's how scoring works for 1.) Match Play; 2.) Cornhole-style and 3.) "Six Ball" scoring:
1 point: Just hit the board on a fly. Boardie.
3 points: Drain your shot in the larger center hole. 3-Hole.
5 points: Send the ball to its home in either top corner hole. 5-Hole.
2x points: If you're a surgeon with a sixty-degree wedge, bounce your shot off the chipping mat for double (2, 6, or 10) points. Bounce Shot.
Note: If your shot hits the board on a fly and the ball then bounces or rolls into the 3-Hole or the 5-Hole, you do get the 3 or 5 points for getting that shot in the hole. Like golf, the ball just needs to end up in the hole.
You take three shots in a row and tally your total score. Your opponent standing next to you goes next.
The player with the highest total score wins that “hole” for his/her team.
Example:
Tiger Woods takes three shots:
1 point for a Boardie
3 points for a 3-Hole
0 points for an Airball
Total = 4 points
John Daly takes his three shots:
5 points for a 5-Hole
3 points for a 3-Hole
0 points for an Airball
Total = 8 points
In this example, John Daly wins the "hole" and gets 1 point aka goes "up 1" with 8 or 17 holes (depending on whether you are playing a 9 or 18 hole match) left to play.
The players on the other side then battle it out for "hole" #2, and so on.
Winner is determined when one team has won more "holes" than there are left to play. Settle ties with a sudden death playoff where each team selects the player they want to compete for the win.
Talk about intensity! Match Play is loved and probably best suited for golf enthusiasts who are used to scoring things in a similar manner.
You take three shots in a row and tally your total score. Your opponent standing next to you goes next. Points cancel, so only one player will score on each turn.
Example:
Tiger Woods takes three shots:
1 point for a Boardie
3 points for a 3-Hole
0 points for an Airball
Total = 4 points
John Daly takes his three shots:
5 points for a 5-Hole
3 points for a 3-Hole
0 points for an Airball
Total = 8 points
In this example, John Daly gets 4 points. His score of 8 points minus Tiger's score of 4 points = 4 points. Alternate sides until one team reaches or exceeds 18. Cornhole Style scoring is easiest if you're a big backyard game guy or gal.
3. ONE ON ONE - "SIX BALL"
Maybe you only have one buddy, fear not! Six Ball is the two-player game for you! Each player stands next to his/her own Chippo board. Chip all six balls toward your opponent, tally your total score for all six chips.
He/she then chips the six balls back toward your Chippo board, and tallies his/her total score for all six chips. Six Ball accommodates both Match Play and Cornhole Style scoring. Pick yer poison!
Example:
Tiger Woods takes his six shots
3 points for a 3-Hole
1 point for a boardie
6 points for a Bounce Shot 3-Hole
10 points for a Bounce Shot 5-Hole
0 points for an Airball
3 points for a 3-Hole
Total = 23 points
John Daly chips his six balls back
6 points for a Bounce Shot 3-Hole
6 points for a Bounce Shot 3-Hole
1 point for a Boardie
0 points for an Airball
5 points for a 5-Hole
2 points for a Bounce Shot Boardie
Total = 20 points
Tiger would win this hole, and go up 1 with 8 to play in a game of Nine Hole "Six Ball" Match Play. Tiger would get 3 points in a game of "Six Ball" Cornhole Style, as his 23 points minus JD's 20 points = 3 points. Either way, Tiger wins. Felt good to say that.
And guess what! You can drink beer, heckle your friends and gamble while doing this. Chip it and Sip it, baby. Life is good.

]]>Ready to be become better at chipping a golf ball?
We cover how to chip a golf ball, the best clubs to use for chipping and the benefits of owning a golf chipping net.
A chip is a tactical shot in golf where the player lifts the ball into the air. Once the ball hits the ground, a proper chip will result in a long roll.
Chipped shots are perfect if your ball is buried in the grass or if you're trying to navigate a downhill slope.
We all love the sport of golf and everything that comes with it. Yet it can be a tough challenging sport and why you need to practice all of your golf shots as much as possible.
That's why at home golf training has become so popular over the last year since the Covid 19 pandemic has made going to the driving range, chipping range or golf course more of a challenge.
More people have gotten different golf training aids to help keep their golf swing in tact.
You can get either golf practice nets of all sizes to practice your irons and woods, a golf cage to practice your driving or a pitching or a collapsible chipping net to practice your chip shots.
Your chipping is an instrumental skill for your short game. The best golfers devote many hours to honing their chip shots just right, and that practice can be the difference between par and a triple-bogey, or worse.
The chip is a short-game shot typically used off the green from around 40 yards and in. In most cases, it involves hitting the ball onto the green with a very short swing and letting the ball roll towards the hole.
Chipping is one of the most common shots that all golfers will face out on the golf course. It helps to have a really nice touch here but its also about building the muscle memory with constant chipping practice.
If you're a golfer looking to improve their short game, then it's important that you practice the chip shot. The best way to do this is with a good practice net or chipping net that you can use anytime at home.
You can also get a golf chipping game like a golf cornhole set that plays like cornhole but with chipping. Both fun and great short game practice!

8. It's a great way to warm up before playing a round of golf
You can use a golf chipping net to practice your short game at home for less money than practicing on the course or at the driving range.
The golf chipping net allows you to focus solely on hitting shots in front of you so that you know what's going wrong while it is happening.
Short irons and wedges (9-iron, pitching wedge, gap wedge etc.) are most commonly used to hit chip shots because they offer an ideal balance between trajectory and rollout.
A pitching wedge is a good all-purpose choice for beginners and amateurs to chip with. Eventually, once you develop feel and skill, you can expand into other clubs.
A ratio refers to the distance you want the ball to fly compared to the distance you want it to roll after.
Because chip shots are used to get your ball out of the grass and back on course, you can estimate the distance from the grassed ball to the green, plus the distance you want the ball to go on the green.
You can measure the distances by using footsteps. For instance, if your ball is five steps away from the green and the hole is ten steps following that, you will have a 1-to-2 ratio.
* When you’re in the greenside rough and have at least some green to work with
* When you’re on the fringe of the green and it’s just not practical to putt (yet we usually do!)
* When you’re in the fairway just short of the green or in a closely-mown area near the green.
* When you’re on the fairway and you can see that a chip shot is necessary to avoid obstacles like trees, pot bunkers, or water hazards.
* Try to aim for a spot in the middle of your chipping net's circle. That way, you can practice different types of chips and pitches every time without having to reposition yourself or the golf chipping net.
* Practice hitting chips and pitches from different lies to improve your accuracy and distance control.
* Use a ball that is similar to the one you use on the course, such as a Titleist Pro V-Series, Vice golf ball or of course Tiger Woods favorite golf ball, the Bridgestone Tour B-330.
* Buy a golf chipping net and try these golf chipping tips for more practice at home!

Golf Cage INSTRUCTIONS 🎯
For these instructions the "back" of the golf cage is the side that the baffle hangs parallel to. The "front" is the side that does not have a pole at the bottom.
A | 3- Way Corner (6) |
B | 2-Way Corner (2) |
C | Baffle Tee |
D | 10' pieces of 1" EMT |
E | Golf Net |
F | Golf Baffle |
G | Golf Target |
1- Lay out the four top 3-way corners (A) into a ~10x10 square. Lay the EMT (D) between the corners.
2- Prepare the poles by sliding the Baffle Tees (C) onto opposing EMT poles (D). Maker sure the eyebolts are facing up. Also, lay another piece of EMT (D) between the Baffle Tees (C).
3- Assemble the top by inserting the poles into the corner (A). Start with one of the poles with a Baffle Tee (C) and slide the corners over each side. Make sure the corners point down and in.
Now move on to the poles that are perpendicular to the Baffle Tee (C) pole. Insert all 3 poles into the Corners (A) and the Baffle Tee (C).
Slide on the final two corners and place the remaining EMT (D) with the Baffle Tee (C) into those corners. You should now have a closed square with a pole in the middle
4- Tighten the corners (A) onto the EMT (D). Hand tightening should be sufficient, it is just supposed to keep the poles from sliding. Do not tighten the two Baffle Tee eyebolts on the outside pipe. This will allow you to easily adjust your baffle location.
5- Attach the Legs by inserting 4 pieces of EMT (D) into the Corners (A). Tighten the Corners (A) onto the EMT (D) legs.
6- Attach the Bottom Corners (A&B) to the leg EMTs (D) you just secured. Make sure the 2-way Corners are at the front, opposite the baffle and pointing towards the rear.
7- Connect the corners with the remaining 3 pieces of EMT (D), Tighten the corners onto the pipe.
8. Lay out your net (E) inside the frame. Find the 2 S-Hooks with red tabs. That is the top, front of the net. The other color signifies the top back of the net. The netting should rest on the loose cords (front to back as indicated by the heavy black dotted line on the diagram) to create your top edges.
9. Hang your net (E) by hooking the s-hooks through the rings of the corners.
10. Attach your baffle (F) to the cross bar. Adjust the distance of the cross bar from the back of net to your desired position and feed the toggles through the net and attach them to the baffle.
11. Attach your target (G) in front of the baffle. Let the bottom of the target hang loose to prolong
If you want to get better at golf from home, you need the right golf training tools. Golf nets are the first tool in any professional or amateur golfer’s toolbox, and getting a good net should be your top priority.
Setting the 10 Foot (3M) Golf Practice Net up is a pretty simple process and takes about 5-10 minutes.
SETTING UP THE 3M GOLF PRACTICE NET
While the installation of the basic 1m, 2m or 3m golf hitting net is pretty easy, there are some things to consider and prepare for in order to keep your golf net and the surrounding area safe.
⛳ Decide Where You Want to Put the Golf Net
Choose a proper spot for your net. While your net should catch all shots, it is ideal to place the net in a setting where minimal danger or damage will occur if shots miss the net.
⛳ Prepare The Ground if Outdoors, space if Indoors.
Level the ground in front of the net so you will have a flat hitting area. This may require a shovel for severe slopes, or simply a dirt rake for ground that is already fairly level and has loose soil.
⛳ Get a Golf Practice Mat to Hit Balls into Golf Net
A golf practice mat goes hand in glove with a golf hitting net, since the best training tools mimic the environment out on the golf course. There are two factors that differentiate golf mats: the size of the golf mat and the turf type.
⛳ Get the Golf Net Setup in under 5 Minutes VIDEO
Most of the golf net sets will come with instructions, but if you need further help, you can⚡ watch the video here of someone setting up the bigger 10-foot golf hitting net in about 5 minutes.
This net is easy to assemble and takes very little time to fold down. It comes with a polyester carry bag for convenient storage and easy transportation.
